jewellery rocks my world
I love jewellery.
All sorts of jewellery: beads, pearls, chunky jewellery, dainty jewellery.
I even have some gold.
Which I don’t wear.
Gold and I have a sort of love/hate relationship.
The pieces that I do have, I love. They’ve been given were given to me by family in one way or another. They have a deep sentimental value to them.
But I don’t wear it.
Take for example the sapphire and diamond ring my Nan gave me. It’s gorgeous. My grandad gave it to her for one of their anniversaries.
It has never been out of the box that it was presented to me in.
Why?
I just don’t have the skin for gold.
I’m not a freak honest, it’s just that gold looks ‘dirty’ when I wear it.
Silver on the other hand, silver looks fab.
And I could spend hours looking at it.
Searching for new pieces.
The ‘One offs’.
Pieces that make me stop and want to immediately reach for my credit card.
(I have learnt a valuable and expensive lesson on self restraint over the years)
I heard some twitter chatter recently about a dinky little website called Etsy. A place to buy and sell all manner of hand made awesomeness: gifts, clothes, art, bags and purses.
But the most fabulous find is the jewellery.
I know. I was so excited at the prospect that I just HAD to share it with you.
As if finding Etsy wasn’t enough, imagine my delight when twitter blessed me with a follower who (brace yourself) made her own jewellery AND posted the links on line AND was a member of Etsy.
It was like God came down and hugged me.
She’s Aussie and her name is Ange.
